Abo Dhabi concert

Audience and Oud fans of Abo Dhabi were delighted by the stunning performance of soloist Shadi Fauzi at the Cultural Assembly on May 28, 2005.

Connoisseur spectators and public were able to enjoy one of the best artists in this field .The performance was exciting and gave a new understanding of Oud ,not just as a ' King of Eastern Instruments ' , but also an international and richly versatile one with a great deal of colorful imagination and vivid melodic styles .

A couple of days before, Shadi delivered a lecture on "Oud between locality and universality" attracted musicologists, oud music fans and national media interest there. [ For more details in Arabic see cultural.org.ae or arab.moheet.com ].

Paris concert

" Shadi Fauzi est un jeune virtuose syrien, il a une surprenante malléabilité pour jouer plusieurs styles de musique , de Jazz, flamenco et de Taqasim .." .

Cet printemps, Shadi a donné une soirée de musique orientale en France , Le concert eut lieu le vendredi 15 avril au Centre Culturel Arabe Syrien de Paris .Le programme a côtoyé des circles de Jazz, de flamenco et de musique ethnic. Le lendemain matin quelques compositions de lui ont été diffusé sur les ondes de Radio-l'Orient dans une entrevue spéciale avec Fathi El Nagar .

Lauréat de plusieurs concours nationaux et internationaux ,Shadi a animé beaucoup des soirées importantes de luth solo à Damas ,Belegrade ,Lahore ,Tétouan, Rebat ,Amman, et Beyrouth . Récemment il est invité à Ankara (Turkie) pour participer au festival de musique mondiale 2-6 June ,et également à Abu Dhabi ( EAU ) en May 2005.

Shadi Fauzi proves himself again to be a master improviser and pro show player; In February the 2nd ,he was a special guest in the well-known musical program (Night player) which is hosted by Rotana Tarab sat channel . and again he broke the tedious Oud improvisational mold with a wide variety of styles and instrumentations; he has packed tradition and innovation into his 10 pieces which lasted for 55 minutes.

Shadi started the show with his music piece titled Andalusia Improvisations [wmv] which extends the unfettered Flamenco forms with original oriental flavor, and it included an evident example of serene meditative genre . The second piece (Jazz oud 2 ) was a quirky and unusual melody , a style that has never been performed on oud before, but the music fitted the eastern instrument almost perfectly . Employing hard rhythmic of Jazz techniques, Shadi had showed a high level of musicianship that can offer lots of improvements and deepening oud possibilities.

He followed with three flirtatious themes of the Lebanese diva Fairouz, On “Salma” he generated a compelling solo that merged deftly into the duet context featuring Salam Fakhori 's guitar, and this approach appeared again in the two other duet selections . "Gannili " (Sing to me ) has the " Tatrib " mood with an energetic imagery in the accompanied improvisations . Abdel Wahhab and Omkalthom were present with three vivid selections and finally the show closed with a medley of tunes and themes dedicated to the later Farid Alatrash, specially with the lovely Takasim conclusion , the most favorite amongst Oud fans..

Shadi who excelled with masterly technique in Oud playing has an incredibly radiant personality. Each and every time,live playing takes its spellbound audience by storm , and leave them howling for more ...

6 Luth festival La prestation de l'artiste Syrien Shadi Fawzi Alashoush s'est, pour sa part, articulée autour d'une riche palette de partitions musicales qui, puisées dans la pure tradition de l'oud arabe avec des renvois aux mouachahates, ont été particulièrement agrémentées d'une série de variations rythmiques laissant entrevoir une prouesse et une virtuosité incontestable du luthiste.

Maghreb Arabe Presse Né en 1975, Shadi Alashouch est titulaire d'une licence en ingénierie et travaille comme caricaturiste dans un journal local. Spécialisé en particulier dans la méthode complexe du luth de Jamil Bachir, il est également compositeur et compte à son actif plusieurs expériences de duo oud-guitare. En 1999, il obtient le deuxième prix de la compétition Mounir Bachir organisée par l'Assemblée arabe de musique à Amman.

A fusion of world music from five different countries was the highlight of Monday night’s events at the World Performing Arts Festival 2003

Syrian Shadi Fauzi Alashoush enthralled the audience with the oud, another stringed musical instrument. He is visiting Pakistan for the first time.He said he was fascinated by Pakistani people’s smiles and loved their hospitality.

“I love smiling Pakistani people. The smile is everywhere.” He was surprised to see Pakistani traditional and classical art. “Pakistan is full of art treasures, particularly classical music.” He urged the world to come to Pakistan and discover the art here.

“Pakistani culture is hidden, their art and music is hidden from the world. The art here is fascinating. It needs to be explored and discovered. The music is real and true. It affects your soul.”

About the oud, he said it was a traditional instrument that is now used worldwide. Mr Alashoush played classical and modern music on his oud.

Shadi Alashoush from Syria played the oud. This instrument figures prominently in our poetry under the influence of middle eastern tradition. Playing a very old instrument, Shadi Alashoush has innovated a lot and differs from the traditional style of playing. He has been influenced by flamenco, jazz, ethnic and eastern maqam.

A solo Oud player, his unique style of playing differs from other current methods that dominate the Oud playing styles. His melodies include different and special compositions and improvisations of his own, where he adopts many musical directions and genres, including flamenco, jazz, ethnic and eastern maqams, intricate oriental omamentals and new techniques of advanced playing..
